The City of Gardena Recreation & Human Services Department provides an After School Program for Gardena children grades K-7 and Spring, Thanksgiving, Winter and Summer Camp for ages 5 to 12 years old.

Elementary school students in K through 5th Grade are picked up from selected schools serving Gardena and will be taken to the Community Center or the Park.
Kindergarten children will be accepted on a trial basis.
Middle school students in grades 6 and 7 may walk to the Nakaoka Community Center and check in. Program runs from the time school is out for the day until 6:00 p.m.
Pre-registration is mandatory. The first weeks’ payment is due at the time of registration. One week advance payment is mandatory for all participants.

*Late Pick Up Policy:
Parent/Adult picking up children after 6 p.m. will be charged additional. This fee is due on the day you are late and must be paid by cash only. Children picked up late on any three days may be expelled from the After School Program.
